Of course the momentum was with THE HURT LOCKER by the time the awards rolled around. AVATAR still has a special place in my heart, though and always will. Very sorry THE WHITE RIBBON didn't win, too. I thought it was an extraordinary, and extraordinarily moving, film. I was soooooo disappointed when AVATAR didn’t win “Best Picture.” Of course the momentum was with THE HURT LOCKER by the time the awards rolled around.
